Ingredients breakdown

When taking your first look at this formula, your attention should be immediately drawn to the quality of ingredients Ghost® chose to include. Half of these ingredients are patented or trademarked which highlights the quality Ghost® has placed in this product. For example, Ghost® could have easily chosen to put a generic version of the ingredient L-Glutathione in this product, but they didn’t. They chose to give the consumer the highest quality possible.

A skin support supplement, by nature, is a product that will contain ingredients that are not only innovative but uncommonly seen throughout the rest of the supplement industry. Don’t worry, that’s where we step in. Let’s take a deep dive into Ghost Glow and see what the Ghost® team in Chicago is giving us.

Inositol – 4000mg

Inositol is a carbohydrate that is found in many foods and dietary supplements. It is found in highest concentrations in whole grains and citrus fruits. This is a very small molecule that is structurally similar to glucose. It has been studied primarily as a potential overall health supplement for women as it can provide many benefits.

This ingredient has been most successful in treating women who suffer from Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). This is the most common cause of infertility in women and the most common treatment is insulin-sensitizing agents. That’s where Inositol comes in. Treatment containing Inositol is women suffering from PCOS has been shown to increase fertility, and even improve embryo quality during ovarian stimulation.

Inositol also demonstrates a huge impact on the reduction of anxiety and stress levels. One study compares Inositol’s efficacy against a common pharmaceutical antidepressant, Fluvoxamine. The trial consisted of twenty patients consuming either 18g of Inositol or 150mg of Fluvoxamine daily for 1 month. The researchers found that the anxiety rating scores were similar for both test groups, and Inositol was able to reduce the mean number of anxiety attacks per week to a greater degree than its pharmaceutical opponent. While this study did use a high amount of Inositol, it emphasizes its ability to reduce stress and be an attractive pharmaceutical alternative due to it being a natural compound and eliciting minimal side effects.

In regards to its ability to improve skin health, Inositol greatly reduces the presence of acne in female patients. A study from 2017 looked at the effect of 4 grams of Inositol daily for 6 months has on the presence and severity of acne in PCOS women who cannot receive combined estrogen-progesterone therapy. Researchers found that inositol is an incredible treatment for patients with moderate acne. While this study includes women with PCOS, it may apply to other populations of individuals as well. More studies are needed to fully evaluate the application outside of this test group, but this ingredient is promising nonetheless.

We are getting 4,000mg of Inositol here with Ghost Glow. This is directly in line with the study related to skin health and the reduction of acne. This is a great dose and should provide skin clearing and detoxifying benefits with long term use.

Astrion™ – 250mg

Astrion is a plant-based compound containing fractional extracts of both Astragalus membranaceous and Centella asiatica. This is a trademarked skin-nourishing ingredient that enhances the synthesis of collagen and hyaluronic acid. The improvement of these two components will greatly improve skin elasticity and skin hydration.

Collagen is a family of proteins that make up the structural components of your skin and cartilage. Supplementation has shown to reduce wrinkles and improve skin elasticity. An increase in endogenous collagen synthesis will provide similar effects. Hyaluronic acid is the primary source of hydration for the connective tissue in the body. It is a clear, gooey substance that is produced naturally and is found in the skin, eyes, and connective tissue. Its primary function is to help retain water and keep tissues lubricated.

We see several studies that demonstrate Astrion’s ability to increase collagen synthesis throughout all levels of the skin. Researchers have demonstrated an increase in the production of hyaluronic acid through HA synthase gene expression. A human study noted a reduction of skin wrinkles by 15%. Glucosamine uptake, another ingredient that makes up many of the structural components of the body, is also increased leading to further elasticity benefits.

Ghost® gives us 250mg of Astrion here. This is a solid dose of a well-studied ingredient that makes for a solid addition to this skin health formula.

Setria® L-Glutathione – 250mg

L-Glutathione is the primary fuel for liver detoxification and cleansing within any cell. This ingredient is found in virtually every cell of the human body and is well-known for protection against oxidative stress and harmful toxins. This ingredient is a means of protection against harmful chemicals or carcinogens during the detoxification process, meaning after they have already been absorbed by the body.

Relating to skin health, Setria® L-Glutathione has been shown to have a positive effect on overall skin health. A randomized, double-blind study from 2017 looks at the results of oral L-Glutathione consumption at 250mg daily over a period of 12 weeks. Researchers concluded that the L-Glutathione group had a decrease in UV spots and melanin index when compared to the placebo group. The most significant difference was the drastic reduction of wrinkles in the Glutathione group. There was also a slight improvement in skin elasticity.

It is worth noting that consuming L-Glutathione orally is not the most efficient method of raising intracellular concentrations of the peptide. That is because it cannot get through the digestion process effectively without being partially destroyed. Therefore, the results you will get from this ingredient are largely dose-dependent.

Ghost® gives us 250mg of Sertia® L-Glutathione which is directly in line with a human study that demonstrated a strong increase in skin health.

L-Theanine – 200mg

Theanine is an amino acid that is commonly used in a wide variety of products in the supplement industry. It is naturally found in certain kinds of tea and is known for relaxation and mood elevation without inducing any sedative effects.

The most common use of theanine has to do with mental performance. We see studies that demonstrate its ability to promote relaxation without drowsiness, and even having a positive effect on sleep quality. Many supplements use theanine in conjunction with Caffeine due to their synergistic effect on one another.

As for skin health benefits, theanine has been shown to possess an acute inflammation-reducing effect. Many different aspects of life can cause inflammation including stress and even poor diet. Ghost Glow uses theanine to help reduce the impact of these factors affecting skin appearance and overall health that are oftentimes unavoidable facts of everyday life.

We are getting 200mg of L-theanine here with Ghost Glow. We like this dosage and it will provide a reduction in stress and exhibit a calming effect when used daily.

DIM – 150mg

DIM (Diindolylmethane) is a molecule found in foods such as broccoli, kale, and cauliflower. It is most commonly added to testosterone boosters and anti-estrogen products due to its aromatase inhibiting properties. However, it also exhibits strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, making it a strong choice for skin health.

A very recent study from 2020 demonstrates the ability of DIM to protect neural cells against oxidative stress and prevent neurodegeneration. This study utilizes DIM in a neurological-based setting, however, the mechanisms can show promise to cells in other areas of the body as well. DIM can exhibit the same antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects on skin cells just as this study demonstrates with brain cells.

DIM is dosed here at 150mg. We like seeing this at 100mg or higher so this is a solid dose. DIM begins causing unwanted side effects at dosages around 300mg so be careful about doubling your dose of Ghost Glow.

Verbasnol™ – 50mg

Lastly, we have Verbasnol™, a botanical ingredient extracted from Rehmannia glutinosa that further enables the skin to fight free radical damage and is also rich in antioxidants.

Studies have demonstrated Verbasnol™ to have a plethora of positive effects on skin biome. It is known to reduce acne, inflammation, yeast/bacteria growth, and provide essential nutrients the skin needs to repair itself. Verbasnol™ directly prevents the growth of P. acnes, the bacteria causing skin acne.

This ingredient is able to reduce the number of free radicals invading the skin layers by providing protection. Fewer free radicals lead to healthier, younger, and smoother looking skin. Verbasnol™ combines antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to improve the overall health and quality of your skin.

We are getting 50mg of this ingredient here which is a good dose. Coupled alongside the other ingredients in this formula, it should provide noticeable benefits to skin hydration, elasticity, and inflammation.

BFPO Information:

When ordering to a BFPO address it is the customer’s responsibility to make sure that the items are within the weight limits for that particular BFPO address. All orders to BFPO address will be shipped individually to keep the individually packaged weight down. We will track the orders to the BFPO hub where it will be signed for and then shipped to the individual. Once an item has been received by the BFPO hub CSN Supplements accepts no responsibility for lost or missing items in the onward delivery process. Please be aware that if an item is too heavy for then BFPO address the item is not returned to sender but disposed of by the BFPO Hub.

Please note:

All delivery time estimates are subject to stock availability and receiving your order by 4:00 pm the day you made the transaction. Orders placed after 4:00 pm on the day of transaction will be processed next working day. Orders are not processed or delivered on weekends and bank holidays. Furthermore, due to the volume of parcels around bank holidays, in particular, Christmas, parcels may be delayed by our couriers. For example, if you completed your transaction on Friday at 5:00pm asking for Next Day Delivery your items will not be packed until Monday and your items should be delivered on the Tuesday.

If for any reason we expect that your order will not arrive within the specified times, we will e-mail or call you shortly after receiving your order. It is therefore particularly important for you to provide a valid e-mail address and contact number that we can get hold of you on. Please be sure to check your e-mails and phone messages shortly after placing the order in case we need to contact you.

We accept, unfortunately there may be occasions when there is a problem with delivery. It may arrive late; it may arrive damaged; it may not arrive at all. If a similar case occurs, we will endeavour to ensure that a replacement or a refund is arranged with the absolute minimum of fuss, you could also get an appropriate refund for the postage you have paid if an item you have ordered has been delayed. Each refund will be treated on an individual basis. Incorrect delivery information as stated by the customer is the responsibility of the customer, who will be liable for any re-delivery or return charges.

Lost Parcels:

We insure all of our parcels, in an event of your parcel goes missing we will take full responsibility in refunding or replacing your item at no additional cost as long the claim is not fraudulent. Claims can be made 7 working days from the date the item was supposed to be delivered.

Parcels Damaged in Transit:

If a parcel is damaged in transit we will take full responsibility, please refer to our Cancellations & Returns policy for further information.

Parcels Delays:

If a parcel does not arrive within the estimated time frame, firstly always check the tracking information provided to you, if you don’t have this, please email orders@csnsupps.com for the relevant information. Secondly contact the courier company as we only know as much as them and if any questions are still left unanswered after your contact with the courier we will take ownership, we will email the relevant courier/department for you, the estimated turnaround times for CSN to receive contact back from the couriers are between 24/48 hours.

Change Of Carrier Service:

There might be rare occasions where we might have to change your selected / preferred carrier service to another carrier. This might be due to weight restrictions, unprecedented demand for their service or infact a delivery which is not possible due to a destination issues. For these rare occasions, the switch to another Carrier will be a like for like service e.g, next day delivery, delivery before 10am etc. We will cover all additional costs for the amended service and in the rare case where the new service is at a cheaper cost, we would then honour a refund for the difference in price.

Courier Strikes:

Finally, if one of our delivery companies go on strike any reason, we won't be held responsible for compensation refunds for parcels which arrive outside the estimated delivery time frame, therefore if you wish to pursue a claim for a late delivery we are able to action a claim against the mentioned delivery company, claims can take up to 14 days for a successful compensation claim, then a further 7 days for the refund to be deposited back into your account via the original payment method. (This is the same timeframe for claims against lost parcels)

 

Online Cancellations:

To cancel an order before the item is dispatched it is FREE, once the item has been dispatched, delivery & redelivery charges will be deducted from the original cost paid, you are advised to contact us first on 0800 669 6727, then second option if the first option is unsuccessful would be to email us at orders@csnsupps.com

In-Store Refunds:

If you have bought something at our shop but got home and changed your mind, you are not automatically guaranteed to get a refund. Legally by law we do not have to give you a refund. If you bought the wrong product, we would be happy to exchange the item for you or give you a voucher to use online or in-store.

How to Return Goods bought On-line:

We will then advise you whether to return the goods to ourselves directly or the manufacturer depending upon the problem. We accept the return of goods sent back to us as long as you follow the below conditions. We will refund you any money which you have paid us for the item or offer you an alternative product of similar value as a replacement if required, If the similar product is cheaper, we will automatically refund you the difference. The only costs you incur is the return postage of the unwanted goods and our postage costs we incurred for sending the goods to you. We do not, however, accept the return of opened and/or part used goods. 

  1. If you want to refund an unwanted item, please make sure you notify us within 14 days from the date you received the item, this is also known as a cooling off period.
  2. From the date you notified us regarding the cancellation you then have another 14 days to get the item back to us.
  3. If you return your purchase by post or courier after the periods outlined above (with the exception of faulty or damaged goods), Nutrivend T/A CSN Supplements  reserve the right not to offer you a refund in full. We may instead return your purchase to you. Prior to sending, the cost of re-delivering the item will be at your own expense.
  4. No refund or exchange will be given without a receipt, dispatch note or other proof of purchase.
  5. Refunds can only be given for products which are returned to us in their original condition. We cannot issue a refund for any item which has been opened or used.
  6. Photo evidence will be needed for all damaged items that need to be returned.
  7. Any item sent back to us over the over the outlined time frames will not be refunded, it will be your own responsibility for re-delivery or collection of the item.
  8. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the item back.
  9. Refunds will be paid to the original payment method.

If an item bought online turns out to be faulty, then you are protected by the same rights that apply to purchases made in person. We will re-imburse you for the cost of sending the item back to us. We will need to see the cost of delivery receipt to re-imburse you for the returned item.

If you have an item that was faulty or damaged at the time of sale, it needs to be returned to us within 30 days for a refund.

We suggest you use a carrier which offers recorded delivery to ensure that if it does not arrive with us you can put in a claim in through the courier as the goods are not our responsibility until we receive the item back. Please use sufficient packaging to ensure the contents are not damaged in transit. 

If an order is returned to us because no one has been at the shipping address invoice to receive the item and no other arrangement has been made between the customer and the courier, the returned item will be refunded minus the amount the item cost us to send out to you, plus an additional charge the courier has charged us for returning the item back to us.

If an order is returned to us because you have entered incorrect/missing address information on the sales invoice and the carrier isn't able to locate your address the returned item will be refunded minus the amount the item cost us to send out to you plus the additional charge the courier has charged us for returning the item back to us.

If the customer has refused delivery (with no mistake on our part) and the item is returned to us, the returned item will be refunded minus the amount the item cost us to send out to you plus the charge the courier has charged us for returning the item back to us. Refusal of correct deliveries is deemed to be breaking our terms and conditions unless there is a mistake with the order, or the order has been damaged in transit.

Whilst we do try to keep all our info pages polite and friendly, for legal reasons brought about by a minority of our customers, we do need to state that it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that they are present to sign for the parcel. In no way can Nutrivend T/A CSN Supplements be held liable for failed deliveries unless the courier service used has been negligent in their duty to deliver, therefore we would claim against the question courier company.

We have an agreement with all of our couriers that if no one is home to receive the goods at the mentioned delivery address, they can leave the item in a safe place, this is an automatic feature which enabled on all accounts, if you wish to disable this feature you can do this on the couriers apps prior to delivery or you can email us at Orders@csnsupps.com after checkout and before the item has been dispatched
